A round near 1.00 carat is about 6.4–6.5 mm. That is the US default center for a reason: it reads clearly on a hand without jumping to 2 carat prices.
Lab-grown stones do not carry the same US price cliff at 1.00 carat that natural stones do, but listings still cluster there. Look just under the line.
