A 1 carat round is about 6.4 to 6.5 millimeters across.
That is roughly the width of a pencil eraser. On an average ring finger it reads as a classic center stone, not a small accent and not a statement 2 carat.

A 0.90 ct round is only a few tenths of a millimeter smaller and is often priced under the 1.00 ct threshold. A 1.50 ct round is about 7.4 mm and is visibly larger.

A 1 carat oval is longer, often near 7.7 mm by 5.5 mm, so it covers more of the finger than the round. Judge the measurements on the certificate, then the photo.
